Artillery Unit Change of Command Prepares for Movement in rebel-infested ComVal

Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija – Brigade General Leandro A Loyao III AFP, Regiment Commander of the Army Artillery Regiment (AAR) president the Change of Command of its subordinate Unit, the 2nd Field Artillery (105mm Howitzer) Battalion 2(FAB) in a simple ceremony at Barangay Bua-yan , General Santos City yesterday, January 22, 2015.
Lt Colonel Romeo B Pardo, a member of PMA Class 1994, assumed the responsibility replacing Lt Colonel Lucito C Carin, a member of PMA Class 1993 who will later assume a higher position as the regiment’s Chief of the Governance and Strategy Management Office.
Pardo, a native of Cavite, recently graduated from the Command and General Staff Course at the Camp Aguinaldo Quezon City. He is a seasoned artillery officer having been performing artillery operations during his junior years Samar and Leyte Region supporting the government troops fighting against the communist insurgents who are destroying the peaceful existence of the people in the communities.
Meanwhile, Brigade General Loyao declared the transfer of 2FAB Headquarters to co-locate with Headquarters 10th Infantry Division stationed at Mawab, Davao del Norte. “Davao Region is a national priority in the peace and development efforts of our government. Thus, in order for the 10th Infantry Division, Philippine Army to achieve its mission, we, the artilyeros, are here ready to support them not only in their combat operations but also in its peace and development initiatives.”
The Army Artillery Regiment is a battle-hardened unit known to be ground troops’ hope in war-tom areas.
