Philippine Army CBRNE Platoon Gets a Boost

FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City – The Philippine Army is hosting the Philippine Army – United States Army Pacific Command (USARPAC) Consequence Management (CM) All Hazards Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear (CBRNE) Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) from August 18 to 22 at the Army Headquarters in Fort Bonifacio.
The Exchange serves as a venue to improve the CBRNE Doctrine for force development and a forum to exchange information between the Philippine Army CBRNE, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) CBRNE Force Development and the USARPAC Subject Matter Experts.
The Exchange is participated in by 45 participants from the CBRNE Platoon of the Army Support Command, 525th Engineering Combat Battalion (PA Disaster Response Unit), and 8th Philippine Contingent to Golan Heights.
Subject Matter Experts from the CBRNE Unit of the United States Army Pacific Command will be the resource persons for the five-day activity and is expected to boost the Philippine Army CBRNE force development in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap.
It can be recalled that on April 16, 2013, the CBRNE Platoon under the Army Support Command (ASCOM) was activated with the mission to provide detection, identification, decontamination and disposal of biological agents; chemical, radiological and nuclear substances, and high-yield explosives (CBRNE) in order to protect life, property and the environment.
